The Elgin® Broom Bear® four-wheel mechanical (broom) sweeper is the epitome of durability and longevity. It boasts unparalleled efficiency, making it the top choice on the market. The sweeper is mounted on a commercially available conventional or cab-over chassis, complete with fully dualized controls (single-steer optional) and an intelligent single-engine design that utilizes the chassis engine to power the sweeper. The Elgin Broom Bear features a large hopper and water tank, which translates to more productive sweeping time. Its single-engine design ensures minimal maintenance or the need for replacement sweeper parts. A variable dumping height and 11” (279 mm) of hopper side-shift make dumping effortless. Choose between the squeegee or no-jam belt conveyor systems, depending on the application requirements. The Elgin Broom Bear is ideal for sweeping in congested urban areas and far away rural locations, thanks to its short wheelbase, large brooms, and dual-mode air suspension system.
The Elgin Broom Bear is available as an optional alternative fuel sweeper including compressed natural gas (CNG) or Hybrid.

The Elgin Broom Bear is now powered by compressed natural gas, making it an eco-friendly option for commercial chassis, and single-engine mechanical sweepers. The state-of-the-art Cummins Westport L9N N-Gas natural gas engine ensures that the Broom Bear meets fully certified EPA/CARB emission standards for single-engine street sweepers. With the optional PM-10 package, the Broom Bear can also be SCAQMD rule 1186 compliant. It boasts a sweeping range even beyond the standard diesel Broom Bear, thanks to its three 3600 psi composite fuel tanks with a generous 51-gallon diesel equivalent fuel capacity. The Broom Bear remains tough on dust and debris while being easy on operators and the environment.
